A customs office (since 2017 called customs-tax office) is a unit of the National Revenue Administration (KAS) handling formalities related to import, export and transit of goods. Poland has 16 customs-tax offices (one per voivodeship) and over 140 subordinate customs branches.

Each office has a different profile: some specialize in air clearance, others in maritime, and some handle road traffic on the eastern border. Opening hours, documentation requirements and services also vary.

At a customs office or branch you can handle:

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment?

Not always. Many matters (e.g. document pickup) can be handled on the spot. For some procedures (inspections, secured goods pickup) the office may schedule an appointment.

How to check current hours?

In the office card in our CUSTOMS OFFICES finder. You'll see opening days, maintenance breaks and special windows.

Can everything be done online?

No. Many tasks can be done electronically via PUESC (declarations, payments), but goods pickup, inspections or stamp-related procedures require in-person visits.

Where to get an EORI number?

Via PUESC. Since August 2015, the standard procedure is exclusively electronic (puesc.gov.pl). Paper applications are only accepted in emergency situations.

Can I pay by card on site?

Increasingly yes, but not everywhere. Check available payment methods in the office card. Alternatively, make a bank transfer beforehand.

What if the office doesn't handle my case?

Choose another branch with the appropriate profile (e.g. air, maritime). Our finder will suggest offices suitable for your case.

Are there Saturday hours?

Normally no. Offices operate Monday to Friday. Exceptions (e.g. at borders) are listed in office cards.
